MINI Plant Oxford tours – latest advice regarding Coronavirus:

While MINI Plant Oxford has resumed production, the factory remains closed to external tour visitors at the current time. We continue to monitor the latest Government advice and are working hard to ensure that when we do re-start tours it will be in the safest way possible for our guests and our employees. Currently, we are hoping for this to be early in 2021.

Facts and Figures.

Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world.

Three UK plants have had a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint and final assembly.

Since production of the new MINI started in 2001, almost 3 million cars have been made at Plant Oxford. But the plant’s heritage goes back much further than that – it is a site with 100 years of automotive manufacturing history, which has become a landmark in the “city of dreaming spires”.

Gain insight into the automotive production during a guided plant tour. Experience the production of MINIs, from the welding of steel parts into car bodies to the individual interior equipment in the assembly.

We are open Monday to Friday. You may join a tour Monday to Thursday between 9 am and 6 pm and Friday between 9 am and 1 pm. Please book your tour in advance.

Unfortunately, the plant tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, but visits can be accommodated in special circumstances. Please inform our Service Centre if members of your group have a walking disability. Also, the tour is not suitable for people with pacemakers for health and safety reasons.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at MINI Plant Oxford.
